Gerry was born in Glasgow, Scotland and later immigrated to Toronto, Canada with his parents and four sisters.

In his late teens, Gerry was drafted to play professional soccer for the NASL Vancouver Whitecaps, in Vancouver, Canada. He continued to play professional soccer for the next twelve years for clubs including San Jose, Montreal, New York, Chicago, Toronto, St. Louis, and finally settling in Tacoma, Washington in 1991.

Gerry considers playing for Canada in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, the 1979 Youth World Cup in Japan, and winning the 1984 NASL Championship with the Chicago Sting, as the highlights of his professional soccer career.

From a personal point of view, becoming a United States citizen in 2004 was a great achievement but he is still proud of the journey of being Scottish and Canadian.

Gerry moved into the Investment and Insurance business in 1993 and has brought the skills he developed through his past experiences into his role as a Financial Advisor. Gerry's passion is to help his clients pursue their financial goals through his confidentiality, dedication and loyalty.

Gerry now lives in Tacoma along with his wife Michelle of 40 years and has three grown children, five  grandchildren, one daughter in law and 2 son in laws.
